This is it! The all-new BMW i3. It will be officially revealed on March 18, and here are some images that you weren’t supposed to see yet.

The design of the BMW i3 is based on the Neue Klasse Concept, and the production version looks just as sleek. It features a brand-new BMW design signature that is the modern interpretation of the kidney grille.

The kidney grille has been slimmed down and now stretches across the entire front fascia. It has an illuminated frame and houses the new LED headlamps.

The i3 features crisp lines all around and flush-fitting door handles that give it a clean look. The iconic Hofmeister kink has been carried over, and the rear features sleek, wraparound LEDs.

Inside, you get a modern dashboard with a large floating touchscreen in the centre. It has the same 4-spoke steering wheel as the iX3.

The BMW i3 will be based on an 800-volt electrical architecture and will support charging speeds of up to 400 kW. Reports suggest that the i3 might offer up to 500 miles of range.

Xiaomi’s Vision GT concept for Gran Turismo looks epic! https://engineicon.com/xiaomis-vision-gt-concept-for-gran-turismo-looks-epic/ Mon, 02 Mar 2026 23:45:15 +0000 https://engineicon.com/xiaomis-vision-gt-concept-for-gran-turismo-looks-epic/

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has unveiled a new design concept for a futuristic hypercar at the 2027 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. It’s called the Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo.

The Xiaomi Vision GT is based on a 900-volt Silicon Carbide architecture, which, according to the company, can deliver over 1900 hp. This puts it in the league of electric hypercars like the Rimac Nevera and Lotus Evija.

While the car has the muscle to take on the fastest EVs on the planet, an extreme aerodynamic design helps keep it glued to the tarmac. It uses massive venturi tunnels which suck the car to the ground. The air enters from the front and is ejected from the tail section. The air flowing over the top is guided by the central shark fin. Even the wheels have unique aero covers designed to suck air out of the wheel arches and cool the carbon ceramic brake rotors.

The interior looks just as radical as the exterior. The Vision GT features a racy and compact steering wheel and a full-width head-up display. The seats are fixed and moulded into the carbon fibre monocoque. The car even has a drift mode.

Xiaomi Vision GT Concept leaked ahead of 2026 MWC https://engineicon.com/xiaomi-vision-gt-concept-leaked-ahead-of-2026-mwc/ Sat, 28 Feb 2026 23:32:15 +0000 https://engineicon.com/xiaomi-vision-gt-concept-leaked-ahead-of-2026-mwc/

China’s Xiaomi has brought something special to the 2026 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain. It’s a new Vision Gran Turismo concept that will soon feature in the Gran Turismo racing game on PlayStation.

Images of the electric supercar concept had recently surfaced online. The images revealed a sleek and radical design, with a low roofline and muscular fenders. The low-slung nose section features intricate vents, cooling ducts and a pair of nostrils on the bonnet. It has an aggressive front splitter, massive vents on the sides, and a large, fixed rear wing.

We know that Xiaomi can build a high-performance electric car. Last year, the SU7 Ultra went on to set a Nurburgring lap time of 7 min 04.957 seconds, becoming the fastest production EV to lap the legendary circuit.

The Xiaomi Vision GT concept will be officially unveiled at the Fira Gran Via exhibition centre in Barcelona on March 2, 2026.
