Special manual 911 GT3 celebrates Porsche’s 75th anniversary in Britain

Porsche really knows how to celebrate a milestone. To mark 75 years in Britain, the brand has unveiled the 911 GT3 Earls Court 51 Edition. It is a UK-exclusive model. And with just 51 units available, it is as rare as it is desirable.

The name of this special manual 911 traces back to 1951, when Porsche first showcased the 356 at London’s Earls Court Motor Show. That moment laid the foundation for the brand’s journey in the UK, and this GT3 Touring-based tribute carries that story forward.

Finished in a bespoke Earls Court Green metallic shade from the Paint to Sample Plus palette, this Porsche 911 looks both classic and fresh. Subtle silver accents across the bonnet, mirrors, and door handles add contrast, while unique dual-tone wheels – 20-inch up front and 21-inch at the rear – complete the stance.

On the inside, Porsche has used Night Green leather to wrap key touchpoints, and Chalk Beige upholstery and elegant Paldao wood trims. It feels neat, tailored, and apt – not overdone.

For making this special 911 move, it’s business as usual. The 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six delivers 503 hp and revs past 9,000 rpm, paired exclusively with a manual gearbox here. Porsche is charging $338,000 (£251,951) for a piece, and considering its limited availability, both in terms of numbers and area-wise, it should be off the shelves pretty quickly.

Theon Design specializes in restomods based on the 964-generation Porsche 911, and its latest, one of only six that will be built this year, is a brilliant blend of old-school restraint and modern enhancement. With a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated air-cooled flat-six developing 421 horsepower and a carbon fiber body contributing to a wet weight of 2,526 lbs (excluding the steel doors, retained for an old-school feel), Theon’s latest commission has a power-to-weight ratio better than a contemporary 992.2 911 GT3. But keeping weight down isn’t the only way to extract more performance from an old Porsche.

As you’d expect, a six-speed manual transmission delivers those 421 ponies (and 324 lb-ft of torque) to the rear wheels, while TracTive semi-active suspension with five settings keeps the rubber planted on the road. Notably, these settings, and those pertaining to engine response and steering feel, were calibrated to the specific requirements of the customer, so the car drives exactly as they like. And don’t fret over the low stance – Theon has generously included a nose-lift system. The brains of the car lie in a MoTeC ECU and Power Distribution Module, with the six carbon-infused intake trumpets opened by a drive-by-wire throttle body. This allows for numerous drive modes, including Town for relaxed driving and Race for more spirited motoring. There’s also a weirdly spelled ‘Raucus’ mode, which unlocks full power, raises the spoiler, and opens the exhaust, sending pops and bangs through the system.

Designed in parallel with the commissioning buyer, this 964 restomod’s carbon fiber body has been finished in Crayon Grey with Lizard Green accents and brushed Eclipse brightwork. Although there’s no forced induction here, Theon has also added a ‘Turbonite’ Porsche crest to the hood, complementing the smoked front and rear light clusters. 17-inch wheels in Anthracite and Black hide RS brake calipers in Lizard Green, and a similar color scheme appears inside. Carbon fiber panels are trimmed in Liquorice leather and Lizard Green stitching, and the Recaro bucket seats give the old-school interior a touch of modernity. Custom aluminum footboards add contrast, as do machined door handles, vents, and dashboard inserts. Theon also creates custom gauges with colors matching the exterior, and just as is the case with the rest of the car, modern technology has been subtly integrated to make this usable every day, with the carbon fiber center console featuring a wireless charging pad and phone extension. A contemporary infotainment screen would be out of place, so an original Becker Mexico head unit sits in the dash, feeding a Hertz amplifier that powers six Focal speakers.

With each build taking over 6,000 hours, it’s no surprise that Theon only lets six customers take delivery every year, and it’s even less of a surprise that this costs a rather large chunk of change: £430,000 excluding the donor car, shipping, and taxes. That’s over $577,000, and you still need to provide a 964, which usually costs between $90,000 and $150,000, depending on condition and spec. In other words, if this kind of creation has stolen your heart, you need around $700k in loose change and a lot of patience.

Porsche 911 GT3 RS facelift (992.2) could be revealed in August 2026

Mercedes is gearing up to introduce the new AMG GT Black Series. It will take on the mighty Porsche 911 GT3 RS, which is also due for an update later this year. Rumours suggest that the 992.2 facelift could be revealed in August 2026.

The upcoming 911 GT3 RS facelift has been spotted testing quite a few times. Spy images have revealed a brand-new diffuser with dual exhaust and a pair of additional tailpipes on either side. It will also feature a new active rear spoiler with three elements and a DRS function.

Up front, the air intakes appear to be slightly larger. The ducts on the bonnet have also been reworked. In addition to the functional changes, the new GT3 RS will also get redesigned headlamps with integrated LED DRLs.

However, a lot has changed under the skin. The new GT3 RS will be powered by a 3.6-liter flat-6 engine, but for the first time, it will feature two turbochargers. According to the latest rumours, the new twin-turbo unit delivers around 650 hp @ 9,000 rpm. It is also likely to get a ‘Boost’ mode.

Exclusive! Porsche 911 GT3 Sport Cabriolet to debut in March

We are likely to witness the unveiling of two new exciting convertibles next month. The Ferrari Amalfi Spider is expected to debut in the first half. The second car will be from Porsche: a 911 GT3 Cabriolet. We’ve been told that the order books will open soon.

The convertible version of the GT3 has been in the works for some time now. It was first spotted in July 2025. The latest rumours suggest that it might be called the 911 GT3 Sport Cabriolet.

Like the Amalfi Spider, the convertible GT3 will also feature a folding soft top and a special aero package comprising vents behind the front wheel arches like that of the GT3 RS and a sporty rear bumper with dual exhausts in the centre. Instead of a fixed rear wing, the convertible version might get a retractable spoiler just like the standard 911 Carrera.

The 911 GT3 Sport Cabrio could use the same 4.0-liter, flat-6 engine. Currently, this engine produces 502 hp, which is sent to the rear wheels via either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed PDK.
