Porsche really knows how to celebrate a milestone. To mark 75 years in Britain, the brand has unveiled the 911 GT3 Earls Court 51 Edition. It is a UK-exclusive model. And with just 51 units available, it is as rare as it is desirable.

The name of this special manual 911 traces back to 1951, when Porsche first showcased the 356 at London’s Earls Court Motor Show. That moment laid the foundation for the brand’s journey in the UK, and this GT3 Touring-based tribute carries that story forward.

Finished in a bespoke Earls Court Green metallic shade from the Paint to Sample Plus palette, this Porsche 911 looks both classic and fresh. Subtle silver accents across the bonnet, mirrors, and door handles add contrast, while unique dual-tone wheels – 20-inch up front and 21-inch at the rear – complete the stance.

On the inside, Porsche has used Night Green leather to wrap key touchpoints, and Chalk Beige upholstery and elegant Paldao wood trims. It feels neat, tailored, and apt – not overdone.

For making this special 911 move, it’s business as usual. The 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six delivers 503 hp and revs past 9,000 rpm, paired exclusively with a manual gearbox here. Porsche is charging $338,000 (£251,951) for a piece, and considering its limited availability, both in terms of numbers and area-wise, it should be off the shelves pretty quickly.

Suzuki confirms pricing of e-Vitara, with pre-order special at $46,990 https://engineicon.com/suzuki-confirms-pricing-of-e-vitara-with-pre-order-special-at-46990/ Fri, 01 May 2026 05:27:55 +0000 https://engineicon.com/suzuki-confirms-pricing-of-e-vitara-with-pre-order-special-at-46990/

Japanese car maker Suzuki has announced the pricing of the two variants of its first electric car in the Australian market, the e Vitara, with prices starting from $46,990 drive-away as part of a pre-order campaign for the first 100 customers.

The special introductory offer is for customers who order the entry-level Motion variant, and for those after the Ultra, the same offer applies at $56,990 drive-away.

The pricing compares to a range of $34,590 to $39,490, before on-roads, for the petrol version of the Vitara, which is still a significant gap, although the lower running costs of the new electric version may balance it out on total cost of ownership.

After the pre-order offer, the price will  increase by $3,000 for the Motion and $2,000 on the Ultra variant, bringing the drive-away prices to $49,990 and $58,990 respectively.

Variant Pre-order Driveaway Pricing Post Pre-order Driveaway Pricing
Motion $46,990 $49,990
Ultra $56,990 $58,990

On the specs front, the 2WD Motion variant is powered by a front-mounted electric motor with peak power of 106 kW and peak torque of 193 Nm.

This variant will be a 49 kWh Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) pack in the entry-level 2WD model, packing 344 km of WLTP range.

The top-spec is the AWD Ultra variant with a combined power of 135 kW and 307 Nm of torque.

This powertrain helps the car get from 0-100 km/h between 7.4 and 9.6 seconds, depending on the variant.

This top-spec variant comes with a larger 61-kWh battery, delivering up to 395 km of range.

Both batteries can be fast-charged at up to 70 kW. With this charging speed, the e Vitara can be fast-charged from 10-80% in 45 minutes.

That’s on the higher end compared to similar EVs on the market, with most aiming for around 30 minutes of charge time.

11 kW AC charging is also available, allowing the battery to charge from 10-100% in 5 hours and 30 minutes for the larger 61 kWh pack.

The Ultra variant also includes additional features over the Motion, including adaptive high beams, front LED fog lamps, a glass roof with a shade, an upgraded sound system, front heated seats, and premium upholstery.

Safety-wise, it comes with 7 airbags and multiple ADAS features, helping it score a 4-star ANCAP safety rating.

This is looking to be a good start for the brand known for its smaller, fun vehicles. Would this price bring customers to the brand or help existing customers consider an EV in a rapidly crowded marketplace? Time will tell. For now, it’s a positive step and model from the brand.

Mazda’s third EV set to land in Australia starting from $53,990, special deal for first buyers https://engineicon.com/mazdas-third-ev-set-to-land-in-australia-starting-from-53990-special-deal-for-first-buyers/ Mon, 13 Apr 2026 01:53:34 +0000 https://engineicon.com/mazdas-third-ev-set-to-land-in-australia-starting-from-53990-special-deal-for-first-buyers/

Japanese car maker Mazda has released the key specs and pricing of the CX-6e SUV, its third EV in the Australian market.

Prices for the CX-6e will start at $53,990 before on-road costs for the entry GT variants, and the top-spec Azami variant comes in at $56,990 before on-roads.

As part of the launch, the first 1,000 customers who ordered the GT variant will automatically be upgraded to the Azami variant, valued at $3,000.

Managing Director of Mazda Australia, Vinesh Bhindi, said the new pre-order campaign follows the popularity of its similar Mazda 6e offer, which saw all 300 units sell out within only two weeks.

CX-6e features a rear-mounted 190 kW motor, powered by a 78 kWh Lithium-Iron-Phosphate (LFP) battery pack. According to the preliminary specifications, this pack can deliver up to 484 km of WLTP range on a single charge and charging it from 30-80% will take around 15 minutes.

Inside, there is a large centre screen, surrounded by 256-colour ambient lighting, that floats above the dashboard.

Last month, The Driven saw an early left-hand-drive version of the car in person at a preview in Melbourne, and one of the standout features was this screen that extends towards the passenger seat, along with the high-quality materials used throughout.

In the spec sheet, Mazda states that the CX-6e includes multiple safety features, including:

  • Smart Brake Support for turning across traffic with pedestrian and cyclist detection
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert
  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Emergency Brake Assist
  • Lane-Keep Assist
  • Driver Monitoring System

Colour-wise, there is a nightfall violet mica as well as metallic paints including Red, Crystal, Machine Grey, Grey, Blue, White, Pearl and Black.

The latest model made its global debut at the Brussels Motor Show this year and, according to the brand, adopts Mazda’s “Future + Soul + Modern” Kodo design concept.

The Mazda CX-6e is manufactured in collaboration with Chongqing Changan Automobile Company, which has multiple brands in China, including the locally available Deepal brand, which is distributed through Inchcape in Australia.

The first Mazda CX-6e deliveries in Australia are expected to start from September.
