“Be a Hollywood stuntman” is such a perfect premise for a video game. What a great excuse to weave insanely disparate situations into one narrative; obliterate the line between realistic and whimsical. This new trailer for the upcoming Stuntman Hollywood game sells that spectacularly, but even if you’re not into gaming, the clip is deeply satisfying and fun to watch.

Check it out:

I’m sure my fellow millennial, Gen-X, and older friends will recognize all the movie and TV references in this clip and appreciate it the most. If you’re not quite tracking, the real magic of this video is how smoothly it transitions between the musical beats associated with the shows and movies as the cars do a proverbial baton-pass through scenes.

The real heater is how The Fast And The Furious slips into Miami Vice. The way the classic Miami Vice cymbals clap in right before the iconic white Tesstarossa appears?! Absolute cinema.

If you’re too young to care about Miami Vice, you really just need to watch the intro to get the vibe. And you can skip the Colin Farrell remake completely. Here:

A new Stuntman Hollywood game is, of course, kind of double-layered nostalgia because the original games were fan-favorites in the PS2 era. I always thought it was odd the series hadn’t been rebooted, and I guess I wasn’t the only one. It’s back, baby.

As a millennial gamer myself, I find Saber Interactive‘s involvement in this new upcoming version encouraging. That’s the same outfit responsible for Snowrunner, which is a great showcase of vehicular physics.

There’s no official release date on this new Stuntman Hollywood joint, but it is being promised for XBox, PS5, and PC. And while a lot of that trailer is not actual gameplay, the studios have confirmed official movie tie-ins. “Take on iconic stunts inspired by fan favorite Universal Pictures films and NBCUniversal TV shows like Fast & FuriousBack to the FutureKnight RiderMiami Vice, and Death Race,” according to the release.

OK, I’m going to hit “publish” now so I can watch this clip again. This is my favorite hype video in a while, and suddenly my second-favorite car game teaser ever (the 2010 Need for Speed Hot Pursuit E3 Reveal Trailer will never be topped).

What’s that? We should watch that again, too? OK, fine:

New Video Shows What Ferrari Is Really Doing With Its EV Interior https://engineicon.com/new-video-shows-what-ferrari-is-really-doing-with-its-ev-interior/ Fri, 17 Apr 2026 02:52:08 +0000 https://engineicon.com/new-video-shows-what-ferrari-is-really-doing-with-its-ev-interior/

Ferrari’s first-ever electric production model, the Luce, will have a “tactile-first” interior that is the work of former Apple designer Jony Ive and the LoveFrom design collective he co-founded with Mark Newson, another Apple alumni.

After releasing the first interior teasers in February, Ferrari has now dropped a new interior walkthrough video for the Luce, offering the best look yet at the cabin and a taste of the experience the driver will have interacting with the vehicle controls.

Right off the bat, the difference between the Luce’s dashboard and existing EV interiors is crystal clear. The new cabin features many tactile controls instead of the massive displays that have become ubiquitous on electric vehicles in recent years.

A Ferrari Unlike Any Other That Came Before It

While the Luce does have a central display, it’s square-shaped with a thick metallic edge and curved corners like an older iPhone. It’s also restrained in size and features typography that reminds of older iOS-era Apple design language, according to some auto outlets. The video shows that the main screen also tilts toward the driver or the passenger, according to preferences.

The screen integrates physical switches at the bottom for the climate control system, a volume knob and three shortcut buttons. Additionally, on the top right corner there are two buttons that appear to toggle between a clock, a compass, and a stopwatch displayed in the integrated round display. The video doesn’t show a single function that is enabled by touching the screen; everything is done via buttons and switches.

Ferrari

There’s a second display behind the steering wheel that houses the instrument cluster grouped into three main round areas that imitate a classic instrument panel but are highly configurable. The largest one in the middle displays the speedometer, battery charge level and range, the one of the left shows how much energy the vehicle uses or receives at any given time from the regenerative braking system, while the one on the right is a G force meter.

The cool thing about the digital cluster is it’s connected to the steering column so it moves along as you adjust the wheel to provide the driver with a clear view of the instruments.

Ferrari

Speaking of the steering wheel, it features an old-school look with three aluminum spokes but it’s also modern, using physical control pods along with Ferrari’s hallmark Manettino rotary dial, which has been repurposed for an electric powertrain, acting as a power-flow selector. The steering wheel also includes buttons for the turn signals, wipers, and a dial for the drive mode selector—the Luce features three modes: Range, Tour and Perfo.

We also get to see the startup sequence that is triggered by inserting the glass-and-leather key into a dedicated slot in the center console. The key’s e-ink display changes appearance once docked into its place, with the instrument panel lighting up after that.

Performance Worthy of the Prancing Horse Badge

SH Proshots/Autoblog

The exterior design of the Ferrari Luce remains a mystery for now, although we do know that it’s a four-door, four-seat electric super-GT. As you would expect from a car sporting the Prancing Horse badge, the performance will be spectacular. Ferrari has so far said that the Luce features a 122-kWh battery pack running on 880 volts and offering a range of around 330 miles under European testing.

The fact that it gets a big battery is reflected in the Luce’s curb weight of just under 5,100 pounds. That makes it the heaviest production Ferrari ever made, putting it on par with the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT. Still, the weight won’t be a problem as far as performance is concerned.

SH Proshots/Autoblog

The battery feeds a four-motor powertrain expected to deliver over 1,100 horsepower for breathtaking performance; the video shows how a launch is seen from the interior, with the 0 to 62 mph sprint taking 2.5 seconds. Interestingly, simulated gear shifts will also be on the menu for added driver feedback. The top speed is 193 mph, which is impressive for an EV.

The front e-axle delivers a total output of 282 horsepower (141 hp for each motor), while the rear e-axle produces 832 hp (416 hp for each motor), bringing the total peak power to 1,114 hp, according to Ferrari. A disconnect system shifts into rear-wheel drive to maximize efficiency—and allow the driver to slide the rear end should they feel brave enough.

The world premiere of the Ferrari Luce is scheduled for May 25 in Maranello, Italy, with production expected to start in late 2026, followed by deliveries in early 2027.

Tesla Semi saves massive amounts on running costs, revealed in Jay Leno’s new video https://engineicon.com/tesla-semi-saves-massive-amounts-on-running-costs-revealed-in-jay-lenos-new-video/ Thu, 26 Mar 2026 00:26:08 +0000 https://engineicon.com/tesla-semi-saves-massive-amounts-on-running-costs-revealed-in-jay-lenos-new-video/

Tesla has been a pivotal part of changing the perception of EVs by getting millions of zero-emission vehicles on the roads.

The Tesla Semi is one of these less-discussed vehicle programs from the brand, but it promises to do much the same in the world of transport logistics and long-distance trucking.

Now, footage of the new Tesla Semi being tested has been made public. The latest video was showcased by Jay Leno on his unique vehicle-focused YouTube channel, highlighting key upgraded features of the Semi that had previously been under wraps.

In the video, which is over 47 minutes long, Leno is shown the progress of the Semi program and how well Tesla’s electric trucks are performing.

Dan Priestley, Tesla’s Semi program lead, shared that the truck now uses a 48 V architecture and delivers a fully electric steering system. Previous versions of the Semi used a hydraulic system.

According to the company, the Semi is also much cheaper to run than equivalent Diesel trucks. Data shared shows that it is 50% cheaper to run in California than diesel semi trucks.

Leno also got behind the wheel of the truck and compared the key differences between normal diesel trucks and electric trucks. The Tesla Semi’s ride was smooth, efficient, and quite comfortable.

Tesla Semi first began deliveries as part of a trial with a large food and beverage company, PepsiCo, back in late 2022.

After taking delivery of the Tesla Semi, PepsiCo announced in 2024 that it had ordered additional units, doubling its fleet to 50 electric trucks operating out of its manufacturing and distribution facility in California.

In recent months, Tesla unveiled an updated design of the Semi with several key upgrades. This included improved range and charging specifications.

For charging, 1.2 MW ultra-fast charging will be available to logistics operators, and the Semi will be able to use Tesla’s supercharging hardware to achieve those speeds.

In recent months, there has been news of the first Megachargers coming online, paving the path for dozens of sites in the coming months.

The updated Semi also has improved aerodynamics for better efficiency and increased payload capacity, along with updates to its charging capabilities.

This has now allowed the truck to deliver over 800 km of range with an 800 kW drivetrain and energy consumption as low as 1.06 kWh/km.

Earlier this month, it was reported that mass production of the Tesla Semi at the company’s currently being constructed factory in Nevada was expected to begin soon.

With Tesla Semi’s production around the corner and diesel prices remaining high, many freight and logistics companies may consider adding electric trucks to their fleets.

The new Semi appears to have made big upgrades, as seen in Jay Leno’s video, which would save fleet operators huge amounts of money during operations. That’s something many fleet operators would not argue with.

2017 Kia Sportage Preview Video https://engineicon.com/2017-kia-sportage-preview-video/ Sat, 28 Feb 2026 21:28:44 +0000 https://engineicon.com/2017-kia-sportage-preview-video/

Hatchback, crossover, or SUV? Whatever you might call the Kia Sportage, you can add “all-new” this year.

The Sportage has looked more like a sporty hatchback than an SUV, and the athletic look adds more muscle in the new model. The front end is taller, with bigger air intakes and a more sculpted body–like it’s been powerlifting.

Inside, the Sportage has a two-tier dash. The top level houses the gauges and the touchscreen. Below the beltline, there are big controls for climate, audio, and other secondary controls. The interior has more soft-touch surfaces, and some models get glossy black trim, stitching on the dash, and paddle shift controls.

With either of the Sportage’s four-cylinder engines, you’ll get a six-speed automatic transmission. But one of those engines has a far bigger punch. The base engine’s a 181-horsepower 2.4-liter four, but it taps out in favor of a turbocharged 2.0-liter, 241-horsepower four in the Sportage SX.

All-wheel drive with a locking center differential is an option on every Sportage trim level.

Kia says a redesigned body and suspension will give the Sportage better ride and handling. The steering has been revamped for better response, and the rear suspension has been redesigned for better roadholding; the SX Turbo has its own, firmer shocks too.

There’s a little more room in this new Sportage. The wheelbase is up 1.2 inches, and overall length has grown by 1.6 inches. Rear-seat space has been improved, and so has cargo space, which adds an available hands-free power tailgate.

Kia is aiming for top crash-test scores, and the new Sportage will offer available blind-spot monitors, forward-collision warnings with automatic braking, and a rearview camera.

Finally, a new infotainment system adds new telematics features to go with standard Bluetooth audio streaming, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. They’re all smartphone-driven, and they’re free on EX and SX Sportages.

Pricing hasn’t been announced, but the new Sportage goes on sale early next year.

2018 Nissan Kicks SUV video preview https://engineicon.com/2018-nissan-kicks-suv-video-preview/ Sun, 22 Feb 2026 21:07:13 +0000 https://engineicon.com/2018-nissan-kicks-suv-video-preview/

Small is big again.

The new 2018 Nissan Kicks is here, and it’ll be the new small crossover for a massively growing number of buyers.

And let’s get one thing out of the way first: The Nissan Kicks isn’t much of an SUV at all—not that it matters anymore.

The Kicks effectively replaces the Juke and comes to us from south of the border. Well, really south.

MORE: Read our preview of the 2018 Nissan Kicks

The Kicks comes from Brazil, where it’s been on sale since 2016—but hey, it’s new to us. The Kicks here is focused is on affordability and efficiency—although we don’t have hard numbers for either right now. We do know that it’s powered by a 1.6-liter inline-4 that makes a relatively meager 125 horsepower, but it should hit 33 mpg combined. It comes with an automatic transmission and is front-wheel drive only—no all-wheel drive here.

The lack of all-wheel drive is because the Kicks is likely bound to live its life between the parking meters, in cities, like the Juke.

And like the Juke, the Kicks steps out there style-wise, but without the frog-eyed look. Its floating roof is on trend for now, and the Kicks has its own version of the Nissan grille with an abbreviated look. The interior is decidedly for younger buyers, but lacks the kitsch of some of its rivals.

The interior sports a 7.0-inch touchscreen in most models, with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. There are a few creature comforts, but unfortunately Nissan makes things like heated seats a top-tier option.

DON’T MISS: Crossover shoo-in: 2018 Nissan Kicks compact SUV comes to US

There’s good news: Every model comes with more than 25 cubic feet of cargo room, which is near the top of its class.

We’ll know more when the Kicks goes on sale in June.
